Children's Miracle

Network Hospitals

the national charity of the MAO

Children's Miracle Network Hospitals began in 1983 and it became the national charity of the Miss America Organization in 2007. Ten million kids utilize its services every year because of generous donations that exceed $5 million. Donations are used to support research and training, buy equipment and fund uncompensated care. When a donation is made, funds are distributed to the donor's corresponding hospital, which is determined by zip code. Golisano Children's Hospital at the University of Rochester Medical Center is the only CMNH in the Rochester and 17-county Finger Lakes region.

As a Local Ambassador for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, I advocate for miracle children, raise funds and act as a spokeswoman for my local CMNH. I have participated in national charity events and I have raised over $1,000 for our local hospital by hosting A Fashion Miracle, a Charity Fashion Show for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Those impacted by trauma, diabetes, cancer and surgery and who have utilized the NICU all benefit from the care of CMNH. It is also important to recognize the time and care that every doctor, nurse, assistant and volunteer provides every child.

Attending galas, charity events and meeting children at various hospitals has been eye opening. I have learned that our donations are crucial because children of all ages and their families utilize CMNH. Miracle children are resilient and I admire them for not allowing an obstacle to stand in their way. I may make a lasting impact with my sparkly crown and vivacious personality, but they too have made a difference in my life.

My goal as Miss New York is to visit all nine CMNH in New York and hopefully all 170 CMNH in the United States as Miss America. Please consider showing your support by visiting my CMNH donation page. To learn more about CMNH, click here
